4 Connection
Prior to connecting/disconnecting, switch off the
respective units.
4.1 Audio units
Multiple outputs are provided for the connection
of the following units (e. g. amplifiers, mixers).
The operating mode selected defines the signal
that is available at the individual outputs:
1. Outputs (TUNER) CD/USB/SD CARD (25)
– Stereo output via RCA jacks L Left/R Right
– Mono output via a balanced XLR chassis
plug
In the mode "Single", the signal of the
CD/MP3 player (CD, USB storage device or
memory card) or the signal of the tuner is sent
to the outputs.
In the mode "Dual", the signal of the CD/MP3
player (CD, USB storage device or memory
card) is sent to the outputs.
2. Stereo output TUNER (24) via RCA jacks
L Left/R Right
In the mode "Single", the output does not
receive any signal.
In the mode "Dual", the signal of the tuner is
sent to the output.
4.2 Antenna
Connect the FM antenna supplied (or another
antenna for FM or MW reception) to the jack
ANT (26).
To connect both an FM antenna and a
medium wave antenna, connect the two anten-
nas to the jack ANT via an antenna combiner.
4.3 Power supply
Finally, first connect the mains cable supplied to
the mains jack (21) and then to a mains socket
(230 V~/ 50 Hz).
To make sure that the unit continues operat-
ing even in case of power failure, connect a 24 V
emergency power supply unit, e. g. PA-24ESP
from MONACOR, to the terminal screws (23).
Note: Even if the unit is switched off, it consumes a low
power. Therefore, disconnect the mains plug from the
socket and, if necessary, disconnect the emergency
power supply unit if the unit will not be in operation for a
longer time.
5 Operation
5.1 Switching on and off
To switch on the unit, briefly press the button
POWER/STOP (20). To switch off the unit, keep
the button POWER/STOP pressed for approx.
3 seconds.
Once the unit has been set into operation, the
most recent operating condition will always be
activated. Thus, adjusted functions such as
repeated title replay or random title replay will
remain saved when the unit is switched off or a
power failure occurs.
5.2 Selecting operating mode and
audio source
To switch between the modes "Single" and
"Dual", keep the button MODE (17) pressed for
approx. 3 seconds. When the mode "Dual" is
DUAL

appears on the display.
5.2.1 Operation mode "Single"
In the mode "Single", the signal of the CD/MP3
player (from CD, USB storage device or memory
card) or the signal of the tuner is sent to the out-
puts (TUNER) CD/USB/SD CARD (25). The out-
put TUNER (24) is muted in this operating mode.
Use the button MODE (17) to select the source.
Each press of the button will switch between:

Sound storage media that are not available are
skipped.
The display indicates the source selected.
When a sound storage medium is selected, the
corresponding LED (5) flashes (during replay) or
lights up permanently (during pause/stop).
5.2.2 Operation mode "Dual"
In the mode "Dual", the signal of the CD/MP3
player (from CD, USB storage device or memory
card) is sent to the outputs (TUNER) CD/USB/
SD CARD (25), and the signal of the tuner is sent
to the output TUNER (24).
To indicate the tuner on the display and thus to
be able to operate the tuner, press the button
BAND (9).
To indicate the CD/MP3 player on the display
and thus to be able to operate the CD/MP3
player, press the button MODE (17). If multiple

of the medium have been loaded (autostart func-

power supply) to the USB port (3).
– Insert a memory card (notched corner to
the right and facing to the unit) into the slot
(4) so that it engages.

Note concerning sound interruptions and reading errors
Cigarette smoke and dust will easily penetrate
through all openings of the unit and also settle on the
optics of the laser sampling system. If this deposit
causes reading errors and sound interruptions, the
unit must be cleaned by skilled personnel. Please note
that there will be a charge on cleaning, even during
the warranty period!
