1. Use 17 mm socket to remove (2) bolts from tie down bracket on passenger side, see Figure 2. Return tie down bracket to vehicl e owner.
2. Remove plastic caps from 2 rearmost existing weldnuts on the driver side, (a couple light twists with a standard screwdriver makes this
easier) remove the rearmost rubber plug from the hole between the two weldnuts that were exposed earlier on the driver side.
Hitch installation
3. Raise the hitch into position over existing weldnuts and install M12 bolt ④ and conical washer ⑤ (teeth side against hitch) into weldnuts.
4. Tighten all fasteners with torque wrench to 76 Lb.-Ft. (103 N*M)
Proper torque is needed to keep the hitch secure to the vehicle when towing.
*Bend exhaust heat shield as necessary to keep from touching the hitch.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which has been
damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. D o not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. This product complies with safety specifications and
requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
