12. Insert the electronics slide-in module into the electron-
ics compartment.
13. Insert inner cover into the bottom housing rail, close it
and secure it with 4 screws (bayonet lock).
14. Fit front panel in the two lugs and close (2 magnets).
15. Affix the provided retrofit sticker on the ventilation
unit so that it is clearly visible. Enter installed function
and date on WS-BP.
16. Switch the mains fuse on. Set the main switch to posi-
tion I/On. On the RLS 1 WR control unit, the LEDs
switch on; the start screen appears on an optional RLS
T2 WS control unit.
17. Connect the PC/notebook to the ventilation unit (USB)
→ Overview of ventilation unit [} 4].
18. Call up commissioning software. Select USB connection.
The start screen appears.
19. Call up the Installer parameter and enter the service
code. The programme changes to the Installer level.
20. Select the parameter Basic settings/Bypass and activ-
ate the bypass with yes. This setting can also be made
with the
-web tool or on the RLS T2 WS control
unit.
21. Briefly switch off the ventilation unit with the main
switch and switch it on again. The ventilation unit now
performs a reference run and closes the bypass (ver-
tical position).
The bypass is automatically blocked if the
winter season is selected or at an air inlet temper-
ature < 5 °C.

6.3 Replacing bypass shutter
To replace the bypass shutter, proceed as follows:
If the motor is defective, proceed as described in Retrofit-
ting bypass shutter [} 4].
1. Switch the mains fuse off.
2. Tilt front panel forwards at the two top corners (detach
from the magnets) and remove upwards.
3. Loosen the 4 screws of the inner cover (bayonet lock)
and remove it. Note information on sticker.
Please note the position of the bypass shutter.
The new bypass shutter must be placed in the
same position during installation.

4. Remove bypass motor. To do this, loosen the 2 nuts
and pull the motor forward off the shutter shaft.
5. Set the bypass shutter to the horizontal position by
hand (the bypass is open).
6. Remove the bypass shutter from the EPP housing.
7. Place the new bypass shutter in the horizontal position
(bypass open) and push it into the bypass shaft as far as
it will go.
8. Set the bypass shutter to the position before removal.
9. Fit the bypass motor onto the shutter shaft and screw
it on with 2 nuts.
10. Insert the connection cable into the groove position II
and III, so that it is firmly seated.
11. Insert the electronics slide-in module into the electron-
ics compartment.
12. Insert inner cover into the bottom housing rail, close it
and secure it with 4 screws (bayonet lock).
13. Fit front panel in the two lugs and close (2 magnets).
14. Switch the mains fuse on. Set the main switch to posi-
tion I/On. The LEDs on the RLS 1 WR switch on.
The ventilation unit now performs a reference run and
closes the bypass shutter (vertical position).
7 Dismantling, environmentally-sound dis-
posal
Electronic components may only be dismantled by electro-
technically trained specialists. Proper disposal avoids detri-
mental impact on people and the environment and allows
valuable raw materials to be reused with the least amount
of environmental impact.
Do not dispose of sensors in the household waste.
Dispose of them in an environmentally friendly
manner and recycle them at the appropriate col-
lection points (→ Waste Disposal Act)
Dispose of packaging materials (cardboard, filling materi-
als, plastics) via appropriate recycling systems or recycling
centres. Observe the respective country-specific and local
regulations.
