Notes on
rechargeable batteries
A „LiIon" rechargeable battery is integrated in the Multimedia Player (lithium-ion). This modern
type of rechargeable battery does not have the so-called "memory effect", i.e., the rechargeable
battery can be charged whenever you want.
Furthermore, it presents a higher energy content than conventional NiCd and NiMH rechargeable
batteries.
Take note of the following important instructions when handling the rechargeable
battery.
• Never damage the rechargeable battery; never take it out of the Multimedia
Player. Note the chapter "Disposal".
Damaging the wrapping of the rechargeable battery might cause an explosion
or a fire!
The wrapping of the rechargeable battery does not consist, like conventional
batteries/rechargeable batteries (e.g. AA or AAA type) of a thin sheet, but
consists of a sensitive plastic film only.
• Never short-circuit the contacts/connections of the rechargeable battery.
There is a danger of fire and explosion!
• Charge the rechargeable battery regularly, even if you do not need the
product. The Multimedia Player needs "current" (even a small quantity) in
standby mode
Due to the used rechargeable battery technology, it is not necessary to
discharge the rechargeable battery first. Simply recharge the rechargeable
battery completely, approximately once a month. In this way the device is
always ready for use.
• Never recharge the multimedia player unattended.
• During charging, place the multimedia player on a heat-resistant, non-
flammable surface. A slight warming during the charge process is normal.
• Separate the multimedia player from the computer when you do not require
it.
