Before You Start
1
Prior to installing inspect the bathtub for damages.
•
Place the bathtub back into the packaging or use card-
board to prevent damage during the rest of the con-
struction. Leave the protective film on the tub basin. Do not put a ladder or heavy objects inside
the bathtub. Store the tailpiece (boxed separately) in a safe place.
Do not use fire (including a lighted cigarette) or have high temperature objects
•
near the bathtub.
Adequately level the sub-floor for proper support of the bathtub.
•
Ensure proper access to the final plumbing locations.
•
All TOTO® Cast Iron Bathtubs are ASME Standard A112.19.1 compliant.
•
Site Preparation (new installation)
2
Proper floor support must be provided. Review the product specification sheet for load require-
!
ments.
Ensure the flooring has adequate support for the bathtub. Verify the sub-floor is level and flat.
•
Consider the installation location. Also make sure the installation area is 3-15/16" (100 mm) lar-
•
ger than the bathtub on all four sides. For example, the installation area of a 66-15/16" x 29-
1/2" (1700 mm x 750 mm) bathtub should be 74-13/16" x 37-3/8" (1900 mm x 950 mm).
Level the Bathtub
3
Level the bathtub horizontally. The adjustment legs support the
•
bathtub. Loosen the locking hex nuts and level the bathtub using
the adjustment hex nuts. The adjustment range is ± 5/16" (8 mm).
!
WARNING: Do not adjust the feet to create
a gap larger than the maximum gap. Serious
injury and/or damage to the legs or feet is possi-
ble.
!
WARNING: Do not adjust the feet to com-
pletely eliminate the gap. The acrylic skirt may
be compressed by the weight of the cast iron
bathtub and damage may occur.
Installation
Turning the adjustment hex nuts will raise or lower the bathtub. Ensure all
•
locking hex nuts are tightened after the bathtub has been leveled.
Maximum gap is
1-3/16" (30 mm).
