Beaucoup de types de pièces plastiques ont différentes caractéristiques de endroit d'étincellement après
étincellement coulissant. Très souvent une identification générale a priori sur le type de plastique peut être
effectuée sur la base de l'aspect de la tache de étincellement. En conséquence l'examen de la tache de
étincellement est conseillé comme un contrôle sur la plausibilité du résultat de détection dans l'ordre de cette
façon pour éliminer les identifications incorrectes possibles.
