Replace fuel filter element

Unscrew locking ring and remove filter element
(A Fig.35) and discard.

Place new filter element in filter bowl locating
on spring. Position bowl against gasket in filter
head and fit locking ring.

Seat Compartment
Raise the engine cover and the seat . Inspect and
clean out if necessary all grass clippings and dirt
underneath seat and around pumps.

Check coolant level in radiator expansion bottle
(B Fig.36). Top up if necessary with 50% antifreeze
solution.
NOTE: Do not remove radiator filler cap if engine is

Battery
Check condition of terminals (A Fig.37) and electrolite
level (B Fig.37). Top up as necessary with distilled
water. The battery is situated under the seat, to gain
access lift the engine cover then the seat.
Generally check that all nuts, bolts and hydraulic
fittings are tight and retighten where necessary.

Check Belt tensions
Before carrying out any belt adjustments remove the
starter key to prevent the engine from starting (see
