The cutting units should be in the raised position.
1.
Rotate the Traction pedal stop (A Fig.15) to give
the pedal full movement for forward travel..
2.
Start the engine and set the throttle lever to full
speed position.
3.
Release the parking brake and depress the
upper part of the footpedal. The machine will
then move forward.
NOTE: The foot should always be kept firmly on the
pedal. To relax the foot a jerky motion will result.
3.
Continue to push down on the foot until the
desired speed of the machine is reached.

1.
Rotate the Traction pedal stop (A Fig.16) to give
the pedal restricted movement for forward travel.
2.
Start the engine and set the throttle control lever
to the full operating speed position.
3.
Lower the cutting units to the ground and engage
the cutting cylinder drive by moving the rocker
switch on the control panel to the 'on' position
(illuminated). To start cutting cylinders rotating
depress the cutting cylinder drive foot switch to
the left of the steering support cover.
4.
Release the parking brake and gently press
down on the upper pad of the footpedal for
forward motion. The foot should always be kept
firmly on the pedal otherwise a jerky motion will
result.
IMPORTANT NOTE: When cutting, the engine throttle
control lever should always be set at the "maximum"
operating speed position. The traction pedal stop
should always be in the upright position when cutting
grass. This will ensure quiet operation, fuel economy,
minimum cylinder and bottom blade wear and the
cleanest cut in difficult conditions. If the engine starts
to labour, the forward speed of the machine should be
reduced by means of the RH footpedal.
