3 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Follow all instructions as described in the Con-
ditions for Safety and Use section.
Follow the cleaning instructions below for a
longer working life and optimal operation of the
appliance.
3.1 General maintenance
If the lower plate is to be removed from the ex-
tractor for cleaning, proceed as follows:
− Open the lower plate.
− Click the damper loose from the lower plate, but TAKE
CARE not to let go of the lower plate!
− Tilt the lower plate gently down and hold onto it gently.
− Once the lower plate is hanging down it can be unhooked
from the hinges.
For rehooking the lower plate, simply do the same in reverse
order. Take care not to let go of the lower plate.
Allow the lighting to cool down sufficiently be-
fore you start cleaning the extractor hood.
Never use aggressive, abrasive or chlorinated
products.
Do not use a high pressure or steam cleaner.
Stainless steel
Clean with a cleansing tissue with mild cleaning agent
then dry with a soft cloth. Maintenance of the stainless
steel can be performed with the Novy cleaner (906060).
Coated parts of the extractor hood
The extractor hood can be cleaned with a damp cleansing
tissue and a mild cleaning agent.
Glass
Glass parts of the extractor hood can be cleaned with
a soft cloth and a glass cleaner.
3.2 Grease filter
If the following instructions are not carried out,
serious soiling can cause a fire hazard.
In the hood there are 2 round metal grease filters. The
cooker hood has a cleaning indicator for the grease
filters.
Grease filter indication
Indication: green indicator lamp starts burning.
After 20 cooking hours, a green lamp on the hood indi-
cates that the grease filter needs cleaning
Access to the filter
Open the bottom plate by pulling it open on the front
side with 2 hands in a downward movement.
The 2 grease filters are lying on the bottom plate. Take
the grease filters from the hood.
In each grease filter there are 2 half round black
monoblock filters. Take the 2 half round mono-
block filters from the aluminium grease filter!
Cleaning the grease filter
The metal grease filter can be cleaned by hand or in a dish-
washer. We recommend cleaning the grease filter by hand.
Cleaning the filter by hand:
− Immerse the filter in a solution of boiling water to which
a degreasing detergent has been added.
− Use a brush for cleaning
− Then rinse the filters with warm water under a tap and
allow them to dry.
