Place of installation:
For maximum efficiency, the solar module should be positioned at
a vertical angle to the sun. As this is often not possible and tracking
systems are costly, a suitable alternative is to mount the module to
a horizontal surface.
Select a site with little or no shading.
Keep in mind that partial shading of the module will significantly
reduce its power output. The cells in a module are connected in
series, like links in a chain. This means that if one cell is shaded,
the whole chain is restricted and output is reduced to the level of
the shaded cell. This happens with all crystalline solar modules and
despite bypass diodes or cell protector.
If solar modules are connected in parallel, each module works
independently. The modules may be combined in any size.
Always mount your solar module on a firm and stable surface!
Solar modules with rear cable outlet require a recess/cut-out in the
roof/deck to accommodate flush-mounting.
See the back of the module for cable outlet dimensions:
Vibrations and excessive bending may damage or destroy the
module!
If flush mounted on a solid, rigid surface, the modules are safe to
walk on with boat shoes.
