APPLICATION
The H8808B Humidistat and H8808C Dehumidistat
(humidity controllers) provide automatic low voltage control
of humidifiers and dehumidifiers, respectively, in central
heating systems. They have a spst, snap-acting, dust-
proof switch.

H8808B1003: Humidistat, Beige (makes circuit on
humidity fall).
H8808B1011: Humidistat, Premier White® (makes
circuit on humidity fall).
H8808C1001: Dehumidistat, Beige (makes circuit on
humidity rise).
H8808C1019: Dehumidistat, Premier White® (makes
circuit on humidity rise).
Electrical Ratings:
50 VA at 24 Vac pilot duty.
Ambient Temperature Operating Range:
60°F (15°C) to 90°F (32°C).
Switch Differential:
5 percent RH, nonadjustable.
Range and Setpoint Adjustment:
H8808B: Normal operating range from 10 to 60 percent
RH. Provided with a positive ON feature.
H8808C: Normal operating range from 20 to 80
percent. Provided with positive OFF feature.
INSTALLATION
CAUTION
1.
Ensure the installer is a trained, experienced
service technician.
2.
Disconnect power supply before beginning the
installation.
3.
Conduct a thorough checkout before leaving
the installation.
Mounting
The wallplate does not require leveling for operation, but
for appearance only. Locate the humidity controller about
5 ft (1.5m) above the floor on an inside wall. Be sure the
humidity controller is exposed to average room temp-
erature and average relative humidity. The maximum
temperature at the location selected must not exceed
125°F (52°C). The wallplate mounts directly onto the wall
with the screws and anchors provided.
Use the mounting template (See Fig. 3) to determine
where to drill the two mounting holes and the wire hole.
Fold the mounting template as indicated and place it

flush to the Chronotherm® III Thermostat. Drill the three
holes as indicated on the mounting template.
Run low voltage wiring to the location and pull about
6 in. (152 mm) of wire through the hole.
Pry the humidity controller assembly from the
wallplate by inserting a screwdriver in the notch on
the bottom of the wallplate (Fig. 1).

from wallplate.
Position the wallplate over the wires with the arrows
on the tabs pointing up.
Fasten the wallplate to the wall using the two screws
provided.
Make wiring connections to the humidity controller
assembly using leadwires and wire nuts provided
(see Wiring section). Push excess wire into the wall.
Plug the opening to prevent drafts from affecting
humidity controller operation. Snap the humidity
controller into the wallplate (Fig. 2).
