Rice
The SMART COOK – RICE setting uses
2 power levels, first 100% to boil the water
and then 50% to gently simmer the rice
until tender.
The rice setting is suitable for white rice such
as long grain rice, jasmine and basmati.
Measure dry rice accurately and rinse well
with cold water until it runs clear. Place into a
microwave safe bowl.
Add corresponding water amount. For best
results, use 1½ cups water for every 1 cup
of rice.
Cover bowl with a vented microwave safe lid
or vented microwave safe plastic wrap but do
not seal.
At the end of the cooking cycle, stand for
5 minutes before removing the lid.
Fluff and serve.
Frozen Meals
The SMART COOK – FROZEN MEALS
setting is suitable for heating store bought
and homemade frozen dinners to
serving temperatures.
Cook times are based on frozen meals directly
from the freezer (approx. 0°F/-18°C).
Remove frozen meal from packaging and,
if necessary, transfer to a microwave safe
container or plate. Cover container with a
vented microwave safe lid or vented microwave
safe plastic wrap but do not seal.
Halfway through the reheat program, the oven
will beep and flash 'Stir/Turn food'. Pause
and stir food, from the outside to the center.
Recover and press START to continue.
At the end of the cooking cycle, allow meal to
stand for 5 minutes before serving.

Potato - Whole
The SMART COOK – WHOLE POTATO
setting is suitable for cooking large whole
baking potatoes.
Cook times are based on room temperature
potatoes about 10–11oz (300g) in weight.
Wash potatoes to remove any dirt. Dry well and
prick each potato 4–5 times with a fork.
Arrange potatoes around the outer edge of the
crisper pan or microwave safe plate.
Halfway through the cook program, the oven
will beep and flash 'Stir/Turn food'. Pause and
turn the potatoes and press START
to continue.
At the end of the cooking cycle, allow potatoes
to stand for 5 minutes before removing
and serving.
Potato - Cut
The SMART COOK – CUT POTATO setting
is suitable for all types of potatoes.
Cook times are based on potatoes at
room temperature.
Peel (if desired) and cut potatoes into
1½–2" (3–5cm) pieces and place in a microwave
safe bowl. Add 1–2 tablespoons of water.
Cover bowl with a vented microwave safe lid
or vented microwave safe plastic wrap but do
not seal.
Halfway through the cook program, the oven
will beep and flash 'Stir/Turn food'. Pause and
stir potatoes, recover and press START
to continue.
At the end of the cooking cycle, allow potatoes
to stand for 5 minutes before serving.
