Verification in the white transmitted and oblique light.

Figure 4
Figure 5
Magnetic marks of different countries are shown in the appendix.
1.3, 2.3, 3.3. Turn power switch to ON position (fig.1 p.5). Lean the banknote mark
against magnetic sensor. Make several light reciprocal movements longwise by ban-
knote over the magnetic sensor. Fig. 6. Magnetic mark presence is signaled with a
sound and. Additionally, lack of magnetic ink in other areas of the banknote can be
checked. For that superpose the location of supposed ink absence with magnetic sen-
sor. Be sure there is no sound signal and indicator is not lit up. Pay attention to the fol-
lowing:
Do not use one banknote more than once when working with magnetic sensor.
Otherwise magnetization of the banknote, accumulation of static electricity occurs and
the sensor can snap into action at a point where there is no magnetic ink.

The present test method is based on veri-
fying external characteristics of the ban-
knote in white transmitted light. Both face
and back sides of the banknote are to be
tested.
Tested features:
absence of mechanical erasures, accuracy
of the pattern, continuity of lines, presence
of visible fibers, microprinting, watermarks,
fibers with microprinting, coinciding of face
and back sides of the pattern in transmit-
ted light.
Switch power switch to ON position Fig.1
p.5.
Switch the device to white light detection
mode, Fig.1 p.4 to oblique (upper lamp) or
transmitted light (lower lamp)
Place the banknote on the desktop and
verify: continuity of lines, absence of
mechanical erasures, accuracy of the pat-
tern, presence of visible fibers, water-
marks. Use 10 x mouse for controlling
microprinting and microtext. When working
with A4 documents, use the slot in the rear
wall of the device. (Fig. 5)
