5. Ultraviolet light banknote test

Switch the device to "UV detection" operation mode Fig.1-5
Note: for PRO-12LPM put the banknote on the desktop (p. 3.7)
It is desirable to avoid impact of direct sunlight or any other type of bright light. Paper
contents through fluorescence, luminescent marks, signs of inscriptions, prints of chem-
ical dissolvent or bleaches are verified.
At UV lightening the paper should not fluo-
resce, but fluorescence of luminescent
marks (invisible at usual lightning fibers, pat-
terns) is seen. UV security features of differ-
ent currencies are shown in the Appendix).
Counterfeit banknotes printed on common
(nonbank) white paper fluoresce brightly.
However the same fluorescence can be
observed on authentic banknotes, acciden-
tally exposed to hostile environment, washed
by washing powder and so forth. For further

authenticity verification of such banknotes
below described detection methods are
used.
Counterfeit banknotes printed on low quality
paper (newspaper or wet paper and so on)
do not fluoresce in UV light, however it is
impossible to produce qualitative image on
such paper. An authentic water sign is bare-
ly visible in UV lightening, but a counterfeit

one is clearly observed.
For quick analysis of banknote stack, fan out
them on the desktop, the counterfeit banknote will be marked by bright fluorescence.
Use 2 x lens for advanced verification.
