Product features
Dacron is a fabric used in sailing.
Sail fabric is subjected to continuous technical testing to improve its resistance to UV rays, salty air, humidity and
wind stress, waterproofness, stiffness, water drainage, resistance to dirt and tears. Nevertheless, the fabric may have
the following characteristics:
folds: in the fold area there may be "chalk" lines that can be formed during packaging, folding during packing and
during assembly, and the rolling up of the sail. For larger surfaces the formation of folds is inevitable. The production
of each sail is designed by our engineers in its original size before stacking. In this way the conditioning of the canvas
is optimised according to the width of the coils. However, notwithstanding internal quality controls, it is possible
that compression and winding folds may occur in the fabric.
Dacron
waves: in addition to folds, waves may form along the seams of the strips of the canvas or the sides of the sail that
could worsen with the tension of the poles or the formation of any water pockets.
irregularities: the fabric used to produce the sails is a top quality fabric that can have small irregularities (e.g., thread
knots, colour irregularities), but these do not affect either the use or the value of the sail.
colour: colour fading or decay of the chemical composition of the material, even if caused by UV rays, variations
in the fabric like colour shades or small irregularities, can be a normal result of production and correspond to the
current state of the technology. in addition, the colour tone of fabrics can be different depending on the production
batch. The warranty will not cover any stains on the fabric due to dust, insects, leaves, pollution, etc., while stains that
may have appeared during the production of the shade sails are covered.
Electrical system: must be performed by an authorised electrician who must issue a certificate of conformity for the
electrical system.
The system must have an adequate level of protection since it is installed outdoors. An authorised electrician is able to properly
configure the system and select the suitable components (proper IP rating).
Motors
Any drops in voltage or radio interference can cause loss of the limit switches to the motors.
In this case it is necessary to reprogram the motor as indicated in the relevant motor manual.
Any noise should not be considered as a relevant hazard, according to the health and safety requirements relating to the
machinery.
The stainless steel components do not require special maintenance. The appearance of micro-oxidation, more
frequent in maritime environments subject to salt spray, does not affect the quality and durability of the product. Such
Stainless steel
oxidation is normal. If you need to eliminate these oxidised spots you can use a steel wool or a brush with stainless steel
bristles. The protective chromium oxide film (self-passivation) will be restored naturally just through exposure to air, without
any intervention by the user.
