DIRECT ROTATION
Direct rotation is wrist motion independent of changing a grip of the i-Limb hand.
The i-Limb Wrist can be rotated using one of the three following control methods:
• Smart Control: Specific muscle movements (rest, open, close, palm up and palm down) are applied to the
prosthesis during setup. For this you will be asked by your clinician to follow a recording process within the
app, repeating rest, open, close, palm up and palm down movements.
NOTE: For safety reasons, the i-Limb Wrist only changes between hand and wrist movements after a rest
action. Please consider this safety feature when using smart control.
• High/Low: A strong rising signal rotates the wrist. A slow rising signal controls the hand.
• Co-contraction: A quick contraction of both muscles at the same time switches between control of the hand
and wrist.
Your clinician will select the optimum control method for you.
Direct rotation can be turned on/off using the Biosim App. You may wish to do this whilst learning, until you feel
confident to use the feature in normal use.
Train in stages.
Make sure you feel confident enough before advancing to more complex tasks or functions of the prosthesis.
50/60 Hz Switch
Adjust the electrode frequency in the settings tab of the My i-Limb app. This optimizes the set-up for travelling and
different countries.
