(B) Battery Types and Charge MODE selection Advice
Charging stages
The Oximiser 900 has a sophisticated system that manages the charging cycle.
The stages of this charging cycle are as follows:
1. POLARITY TEST:
Upon connection to the battery, a polarity check is made to ensure that the connections are
correct. The red coloured LED light will show a fl ashing warning sign if the connection
polarity is wrong.
2. ANALYSIS:
a. A fast analysis of battery condition is performed. This is to establish if the battery is; lightly
discharged, deeply discharged (sulphated), or permanently damaged/short-circuited
through internal deterioration.
b. If the battery is permanently damaged or will not accept a charge current, or if the voltage
is below 4 volts, the Oximiser 900 will not attempt to re-charge. The red warning light will
light up to prompt you to disconnect the Oximiser 900 from the battery.
