Important note: The extended use of the appliance without water may cause damage to the
safety system. This could cause damage to the heating element, which will not be covered by the
guarantee.
CLEANING & MAINTENANCE
1. Remove the plug from socket and let the appliance cool down before cleaning.
2. Do not immerse the power cord, the appliance itself or the base in water or any other liquid.
3. To clean outside surfaces: Wipe the exterior with a damp soft cloth or sponge and dry with a
cloth or paper towel. Do not use strong cleaners or abrasives that may scratch the surface and
never spray cleaners onto the kettle.
4. Do not attempt to dismantle the kettle or the power base for cleaning.
Descaling
For better performance and to prolong the life of the kettle, descale it regularly. The interval of
descaling depends on the hardness of water in your area and the usage frequency of the kettle.
1. Fill the kettle with approx. 900ml water.
2. Switch on the kettle.
3. After the kettle switches off, add vinegar.
4. Leave the solution in the kettle overnight.
5. Empty the kettle and rinse the inside thoroughly.
6. Fill the kettle with fresh water and boil the water.
7. Empty the kettle and rinse it with fresh water again.
Repeat the procedure if there is still some scale in the kettle.
Note: You can also use an appropriate descaler. In that case, follow the instructions on the pack-
age of the descaler.

FILTER CLEANING

1. Remove the fi lter from the kettle.
2. Place under a tap and rub gently any accumulated scale.
3. Place back the fi lter between the two grooves near the spout at the front of the kettle.
STORAGE
The cord could be winded into the base unit, which has a cord storage compartment.
