WARNING: Do not use this vacuum cleaner
to vacuum lead paint debris, as this may
disperse fine lead particles into the air. This
vacuum cleaner is not intended for use under
EPA Regulation 40 CFR Part 745 for lead paint
material cleanup.
This appliance must be grounded. If it malfunctions or
breaks down, grounding provides the current a path
of least resistance to reduce the risk of electric shock.
This appliance is equipped with a grounding plug. The
plug must be inserted into an appropriate outlet that is
properly installed and grounded in accordance with all
local codes and ordinances.
WARNING: Improper connection of the
equipment can result in electric shock. Check
with a qualified electrician or service person
if there is any doubt the outlet is properly
grounded. Do not modify the plug provided
with the appliance. If it does not fit, have a
qualified electrician install a proper outlet.
1. This appliance is for use on a nominal 120 V circuit
and has a grounded plug. (See Figure 1).
2. A temporary adapter may be used to connect
the plug to a two-pole receptacle if a properly
grounded outlet is not available. (See Figures 2-3)
3. The temporary adapter should be used only until
a properly grounded outlet can be installed by a
qualified electrician. The green-colored rigid tab
extending from the adapter must be connected to
a permanent ground such as a properly grounded
outlet box cover.

4. Whenever the adapter is used, it must be held in
place by a metal screw. (See Figure 2)

WARNING: To reduce the risk of personal injury
in the event an extension cord is used, make
sure the electrical connection between the
appliance's plug and extension cord is firmly
and fully connected. Periodically check the
connection while operating to ensure it is
fully attached. Do not use an extension cord
that provides a loose connection. A loose
connection may result in overheating, fire, and
increases the risk of a burning.
NOTE: In Canada, the use of a temporary
adapter is not permitted by the Canadian
Electrical Code.
NOTE: Ensure the appliance is connected to an
outlet having the same configuration as the
plug.
