Power tools can cause flying particles.
Proper eye protection must be worn at all times by tool user and bystanders. Always wear impact resistant eyewear. Be aware
that failure of the workpiece or the sanding accessories can generate high-velocity projectiles. Ensure that the workpiece is
securely fastened. For overhead work, wear a safety helmet. The risk to bystanders should also be assessed before sanding.
Flying particles can cause eye injury.
Power tools generate noise.
Ear protection must be worn when tool noise level exceeds 85 dBA. We also recommend that ear protection be worn when the
tool noise level is below 85 dBA. See the tool's information sheet for the noise level. Exposure to high noise levels can cause
permanent, disabling hearing loss and other problems such as tinnitus. Therefore, the risk assessment and implementation of
appropriate controls for these hazards are essential. Damping may prevent the workpiece from ringing. Operate and maintain
the sander and attached tools as recommended to prevent an unnecessary increase in the noise and vibration. Always ensure
that the silencer or muffler is in place and in good working order.
Prolonged exposure to noise can cause hearing loss.
Power tools vibrate.
Excessive vibration can cause injury. If numbness, tingling, pain or whitening of the skin occurs, stop using tool and consult a
physician. See the tool's information sheet for the vibration level. Wear warm clothing when working in cold conditions and keep
your hands warm and dry. Hold the tool with a light but safe grip, taking account of the required hand reaction forces, because
the risk from vibration is generally greater when the grip force is higher.
Prolonged exposure to vibration can cause injury.
Rotating sanding pads can cause cuts and abrasions.
Keep hands and other body parts away from sanding pads to prevent cutting or pinching. Wear protective clothing and gloves to
protect hands. Avoid direct contact with the sanding pad during and after use as it can become hot or sharp.
Contact with rotating sanding pads can cause injury.

Keep loose hair away from power tools and accessories. Keep hands away from moving parts of the tool and accessories. Do
not wear jewelry, loose clothing, or neckwear around power tools. Keep work area clear of cleaning rags and all items that could
become entangled with the tool.

used on plastic or other non-conductive materials.
Explosions and fire can cause injury.
Backing pads rotating at excessive speed can burst.
Check the speed printed on the backing pad. This speed must be greater than the nameplate speed of the sander. Do not exceed
rated operating air pressure.
Bursting backing pads can cause injury or death.
Sanders are not guarded for use with grinding wheels or cut off wheels.
Never mount a grinding wheel or cutoff wheel on a sander.
Unguarded grinding wheels and cut off wheels can cause injury.
Sanders can generate unexpected movement.
Keep a firm grip on the tool at all times. Be sure your body position allows you to have control of the tool at all times. Make sure
your footing is secure. When possible, secure the work piece in a vice or with clamps. Operators and maintenance personnel
should be physically able to handle the bulk, weight and power of the tool. Hold the tool correctly, be ready to counteract normal
