Installation Instructions
Please read before installing
Overview
The HW-RPM-4R provides switching control for up to four
non-dim lighting or motor loads. Each of the four loads is
sup plied by its own input and can switch 16 A (lighting) or
1/3 HP motor @ 100–120 V
220–240 V (5 A). The installation requires the replacement
of existing terminal blocks on the DIN rail that correspond
to the position in which the HW-RPM-4R will be mounted
in the HWI-PNL series panel. It is recommended to install
HW-RPM-4R modules at the lowest level possible as shown
in Figure 1.
NOTE: During normal operation modules will click periodi-
cally with no system activity.

Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Turn power off to all feeds to the panel.
WARNING – This panel may be fed by multiple cir-
cuits. To avoid the risk of electric shock, locate and
lock each supply breaker in the off position before
proceeding. Wiring with power on could result in
death or serious injury.
2. Locate the nearest end stop on the DIN rail that
holds the terminal blocks. Relocate end stops to allow
more space (see Figure 2). End stops may be relocated
by levering them off the DIN rail with a flat head screw-
driver.
3. Remove the existing Neutral (White), Dimmed Hot
(Red), and Hot (Black) terminal blocks and discard
them.
4. Using the enclosed kit, assemble the terminal
blocks to build four groups of red-black-gray blocks
as shown in Figure 2.
5. Install the two position bypass jumpers on the four
groups of black and red terminal blocks as shown in
Figure 2.
6. Install the grouped blocks on the DIN rail and slide
the end stop to secure the blocks as shown in Figure 2.
7. Connect the load and line wires to the left side of
the terminal blocks as shown in Figure 3. Do not over-
tighten screws, torque to 5 in-lbs to 7 in-lbs (0.60 N
to 0.80 N m).

8. Verify wiring safety.
WARNING - Only turn on input feed circuit breakers
when load wiring is complete and it is safe to have
power applied. Failure to verify wiring safety can
result in death or serious injury.
Turn Circuit breaker(s) ON and verify that all loads
operate correctly and that each circuit's total load does
not exceed 16 A. If motor loads are present, make sure
not to leave ON beyond the manufacturer's specified
time or past the time they need to complete their task.
