INSTRUCTION MANUAL
WARNING:
Before using the device read all the instructions
carefully.
WARNING
1 - This converter operates when connected to any cigar-
lighter socket: of a car, of a boat, of a Telwin Jump-Start
or Speed Start with 12Vdc output voltage and it supplies
an alternating voltage of 230Vac. It is suitable for
powering electrical and electronic appliances such as
power supplies for: mobile phones, computers,
cameras, video cameras, lighting devices etc.
2 - Do not power at 6Vdc or at 24Vdc.
3 - Do not invert the positive and negative cables of the
converter input.
4 - It is forbidden and dangerous to connect the AC output
of the converter to an AC power supply input.
5 - It is absolutely forbidden and dangerous to connect the
converter and supply electricity to a main supply system
in a building.
6 - Using this converter without a proper earth connection
could give rise to dangerous situations.
7 - In order to guarantee safety against indirect contact,
insert a Residual Current Device downstream of the AC
output and make sure that the negative terminal of the
battery is connected to earth or to the vehicle chassis.
8 - For safe installation:
Connect the AC earth clamp to the vehicle chassis.
To insert the RCD in the AC outlet, connect one of the
two AC output conductors (N) to the chassis earth point,
this connection should be made in the AC output section
between the converter and the RCD.
Always consult the locale regulations in force.
9 - Do not use the converter for long periods with the vehicle
engine switched off; it may discharge the battery
completely.
10 - Switch off the appliances connected to the 230Vac
socket of the converter before taking the plug out of the
cigar-lighter socket.
11 - Replace the fuse only and exclusively with fuses of the
same size. Using fuses taking more current may cause
permanent damage to the converter and the cigar-
lighter socket in the vehicle.
12 - Make sure that the contacts in the cigar-lighter socket of
the vehicle are clean and dust-free; imperfect electrical
connections may produce harmful, dangerous heat at
the contact point.
13 - This converter supplies an alternating voltage of
230Vac; there is a danger of electric shock. Do not insert
metal objects that conduct electricity into the outlet
sockets.
14 -
Keep out of reach of children.
15 - Make sure that the converter ventilation slots are not
obstructed during use; the surrounding temperature
should be between 10°C and 40°C.
16 - Do not leave the converter in the sun when in operation.
17 - Protect it from water.
18 - It is not suitable for powering appliances designed to
produce heat such as: hairdryers, coffee machines,
irons, electric stoves, toasters etc.
19 - Do not use the converter near inflammable material or in
places where inflammable gas or fumes have
accumulated such as in vehicles near the battery
seating.
20 - Do not use the converter in a dusty environment or in the
presence of filings or shavings.
21 - Do not open the case of the converter for any reason
whatsoever.

operation it is necessary to reduce the absorbed power.
INSTALLATION and OPERATION
Insert the converter plug into the cigar-lighter socket of the
vehicle, of the boat or of the Telwin Jump-Start or Speed
Start, making sure that the voltage is 12Vdc; it is also
possible to connect two cables with corresponding crocodile
clips to be attached directly to the terminals of a 12Vdc
battery as shown in fig.A. Make sure all the DC connections
are locked tightly so as to guarantee a perfect electrical
contact. Connect the apparatus to earth or to the chassis of
the vehicle (fig. A).Turn the converter switch to the "ON"
position. Insert the plug of the appliance to be powered into
the output socket of the converter. The inside of the converter
contains an overload relay that triggers when the maximum
available power is exceeded. When the converter has
triggered due to overload the output will automatically be
switched off; to restore operation it is necessary to reduce the
absorbed power.
The converter is fitted with a 15A safety fuse, which is
situated in the cigar-lighter plug, and this could blow in the
event of overload; to replace the fuse see the fig. B. There are
also fuses situated in the back of the container, see fig. C.
The converter absorbs a very low current; nevertheless, we
advise disconnecting it from the cigar-lighter socket if the
vehicle or Jump-Start remains unused for over 24 hours.

can be powered by the CONVERTER 300, 500, 1000.
