TROUBLESHOOTING
Visit a Princess Auto Ltd. location for a solution if the tool does not
function properly or parts are missing. If unable to do so, have a
qualified technician service the tool.
PROBLEM(S)
Motor overheats. 1. Incorrect power cord.
Motor does not
turn on.
The engine is
running but the
cable reel is not
running.
Motor runs
slowly or without
normal power.
Motor runs in one
direction only.
Motor is water
damaged.

3. Defective motor.

solenoid.

SUGGESTED SOLUTION(S)
1. Use only supplied power cord.
2. Allow winch to cool down
periodically.
1. Tap solenoid to loosen contacts.
2. Replace remote.
3. Check for voltage at armature
port with switch pressed. If
voltage is present, replace motor.
4. Have technician service winch.
5. Replace remote battery.
6. Tighten nuts on all cable
connections.
7. Fully charge battery.
Move the clutch knob to the
engaged position. If the problem
persists, a qualified technician will
have to check and repair.
1. Connect to appropriate power
supply.
2. Clean, tighten or replace cable
connectors.
1. Tap solenoid to loosen contacts.
2. Repair or replace solenoid.
3. Replace remote.
Allow to drain and dry thoroughly,
then run the motor without load in
short bursts to dry the windings.
Have a qualified technician
lubricate the winch.
