Please note that the saw re-oils after
use and oil may leak out if it is stored on
its side or on the head. This is a normal
process due to the necessary ventila-
tion opening on the upper edge of the
tank and does not constitute a reason for
complaint. As each saw is checked dur-
ing production and tested with oil, a small
residue may be in the tank despite drain-
ing, which may slightly dirty the housing
with oil in transit. Please clean the hous-
ing with a cloth.
Assemble the blade
1. Place the saw on a flat surface.
2. Turn the fixing screw (15) anticlock-
wise to remove the chain wheel cover
(16).
3. Place the blade (5) on the rail bolts so
the tensioning screw (21) points out-
wards.
Assemble the saw chain
1. Spread the saw chain in a loop, so the
cutting edges face clockwise (6).
2. Place the chain around the chain cog
(22) and insert into the blade groove.
It is normal for the saw chain to sag.
3. Pretension the chain by turning the
tensioning screw (21) clockwise.
4. Attach the chain wheel cover (16).
Here, the lug on the cover must ini-
tially be inserted into the notch pro-
vided on the device for this purpose
(23). Tighten the fixing screw (15) only
slightly, as the saw still has to be ten-
sioned.

Tensioning the saw chain
With a correctly tensioned chain you get
good cutting performance and a longer
life.
An incorrectly tensioned chain
may break or spring off, leading
to danger of injury. Test the elec-
tric saw before every start and
the chain tension after every
hour of sawing
The chain is correctly tensioned if it does
not sag at the rail underside and can be
rotated completely around with the gloved
hand.
When the saw chain is tensioned with 9 N
(approx. 1 kg), the gap between the saw
chain and the guide rail may not be more
than 2 mm.
1. Ensure that the chain brake has been
released, that is, that the chain brake
lever (4) is pulled up against the front
grip.
2. Unscrew the fastening bolt (15).
3. To tighten the saw, turn the chain
adjustment ring (14) clockwise. To
loosen the tension, turn the chain ad-
justment ring anti-clockwise.
4. Tighten up the fastening bolt (15)
again.
With a new saw chain, you must
readjust the chain tension after at
least 5 cutting operations.
