TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
PROBLEM
Engine will not start.
Engine runs rough, floods
during operation.
Engine is hard to start.
Engine misses or lacks
power.
Engine runs, then quits.
Engine revs too high.
Auger turn at idle.
Auger turns, but has no
power.
Auger jumps.
Auger cuts slowly.
Contact customer service if above remedies fail.

POSSIBLE CAUSE
1. Ignition switch off.
2. Spark plug wire disconnected.
3. Out of fuel.
4. Spark plug wet, faulty or improperly
gapped.
5. Fuel line hose not positioned in
bottom of gas tank.
6. Stale fuel.
1. Dirty air filter.
2. Choke partially engaged.
3. Carburetor out of adjustment.
1. Stale fuel.
2. Spark plug wire loose.
3. Dirty carburetor.
4. Fuel not primed sufficiently.
1. Clogged fuel filter.
2. Clogged air filter.
3. Carburetor out of adjustment or bad.
4. Spark plug wet, faulty or improperly
gapped.
1. Gas cap not venting.
2. Plugged fuel filter.
3. Carburetor out of adjustment or bad.
1. Carburetor out of adjustment.
1. Idle speed too high.
2. Broken clutch spring.
1. Choke on.

REMEDY/ACTION
1. Flip switch to ON position.
2. Connect spark plug wire to spark plug.
3. Refuel.
4. Clean, replace or gap spark plug.
5. Push fuel line down into fuel in gas tank.
6. Drain old fuel and replace with fresh. Use fuel
stabilizer at end of season or during long term
storage.
1. Clean or replace air filter.
2. Move choke lever to run position.
3. Install carburetor repair kit or replace carburetor.
1. Drain old fuel and replace with fresh fuel. Use fuel

2. Make sure spark wire is securely attached to spark
plug.
3. Clean carburetor, use fuel stabilizer, new gas can.
4. Prime unit 3 more times, then pull recoil handle.

3. Install carburetor repair kit or replace carburetor.
4. Clean, replace or gap spark plug.
1. Clean or replace gas cap.
