10. Operation
10.1 Boiler operation guidelines:
Daily:
•
check correct operation of all heating system components including
burner and control system
•
check water pressure in the heating system
•
remove ash
•
check level and quality of fuel and check feeder operation
•
check all hydraulic connections in the boiler room
•
keep the boiler room clean.
In case of any irregularities in boiler room operation (heating system devices),
take required actions immediately or contact the Authorised Service Centre for
repairs or adjustments.
10.2 Scope and schedule of inspections:
Monthly inspection
•
check water pressure in the system
•
check safety valve
•
check control and protective devices
•
check all connections
•
check air intake and exhaust system
Minor inspection (every 6 months)
•
check seals and packing
•
check thermal insulation of the boiler doors
•
check safety devices (safety valve, STB, etc.)
•
check flue gas (if increased flue gas temperature is observed, clean the
combustion section of the boiler)
Major inspection (every 12 months)
•
check seals and packing
•
check thermal insulation of the boiler doors and the clean-outs
•
check cleaning system
•
check ceramic inserts
•
check ash removal system seals
•
check safety devices (safety valve, STB, etc.)
•
analyse flue gas
•
clean combustion section
•
check exhaust fan
•
check thermal insulation
•
adjust burner parameters, check control system settings
If the boiler will not be used for a long time, the remaining oxygen in the boiler
water and oxygen absorbed by the water from air can be highly corrosive in the
presence of carbonic acid. Take special precautions if the boiler will not be used
for more than one week.
