24. Ensure that the wood cannot twist while it is
being cut.
25. Watch out for splintering wood. While you
are sawing you may be injured by flying
wood chips.
26. Do not use the chain saw to lever or move
the wood.
27. Only cut with the lower section of the saw.
The saw will be repulsed towards you if you
try and cut with the upper section of the saw.
28. Ensure that the wood is free of stones, nails
or other foreign objects.
29. We recommend that first-time users are
instructed practically as to the correct use
of the chainsaw and the required personal
safety equipment by an experienced opera-
tor; the cutting of round wood or logs should
be trained on a log stand or similar rack-type
device first.
30. Keep the running chainsaw from touching
the ground or wire fences.
31. Keep people and animals away from the
cutting blade.

Assembly

Warning! Before assembling the device, remove
the battery.
1. Slide the pruner / hedge trimmer onto the tube (to do
so, the screw sleeve (8) must be loosened by turning
anticlockwise).
2. Tighten the screw sleeve (8) by turning it clockwise to
attach the pruner / hedge trimmer to the tube.
Installing the bar and saw chain (Figs. 2 and 3)
Attention! Danger of injury. Wear safety gloves
when fitting the chain. Always remove the
rechargeable battery from the device before
all work.
To install the bar and chain, no tools are needed for
this chain saw.
• Place the chainsaw on a stable surface.
• Turn the thumb screw (6) anti-clockwise to open the
chain wheel cover (7)
• Lay the saw chain (5) on the bar (4) and note the
running direction of the chain.
• The cutting teeth must be on the top of the bar and
facing forwards.
• Lay the free end of the saw chain over the chain drive
wheel and the bar (4) with the elongated hole over
the bar guide.
• Install the chain wheel cover (7) and turn the thumb
screw (6) a little in a clockwise direction to fix the
cover hand-tight.
• Make sure that the chain tensioning bolt (19) sits pre-
cisely in the small opening in the bar.

Tensioning the saw chain (Fig. 4)
a) Left direction: Tension chain
b) in the right direction: Loosen chain
If the device is equipped with SDS, this means that you
can loosen or tighten the chain and the bar (guide plate)
without having to use a tool. You can adjust the chain
tension using the chain tension ring (2) on the SDS. You
can use the thumb screw (6) on the SDS to loosen or
tighten the bar.
Unscrew the thumb screw (6) a little in an anticlockwise
direction. Then adjust the correct chain tension with the
SDS (2). Continue to tension the chain until it can be
lifted by around 3 mm in the middle of the strut as shown
in Fig. 4. Now tighten the thumb screw (6) completely.
Information on tensioning the chain
The saw chain must be correctly tensioned to ensure
safe operation. Optimum tension is reached when the
saw chain in the middle of the bar can be lifted up by 3
mm.
thus changing its length, check the chain tension every
10 minutes at the latest and adjust if necessary. This is
particularly true for new saw chains. Slacken the saw
chain after completing work because it shortens when
cooling. This prevents the chain being damaged.

Filling the oil tank
1. Place the pruner on a level surface.
2. Clean the area around the oil tank lid and take it off.
3. Fill the tank with saw chain oil. Make sure that no dirt

Attention! Always wear work gloves when you are
working on the chainsaw, to avoid injuries.
Attention: During the run-in time, the chain must
be re-tightened frequently. Immediately re-tighten
the chain if it flutters or hangs out of the groove.

Warning! Do not over-tension the chain as this
leads to excessive wear and decreases the ser-
vice life of the rail and chain.
Attention! Always wear work gloves when you
are working on the chainsaw, to avoid injuries.
Attention! Never operate the chain without saw
chain oil! Using chain saw without saw chain oil or
with an oil level below the minimum marking will
result in damage to the chain saw.
Attention! Only use special chain saw oil. The use
of used oil will render the warranty invalid.

Warning! Let the device run at its own speed. Do
not overload it.
