Instructions to use the Rail Saver :
1. Before installing hydraulic ram,
remove «Wegde bar», clean and
lubricate wedge surfaces with grease
and clean «Rail Body».
4. Place «Power Concentrator» in
desired position for use.
7. Insert into damaged frame rail to
marked depth, actuate hand pump to
needed expansion, hammer and level
«High» areas.
2. Install 1 ½" – 16 thread 4 ton
hydraulic ram maximum 5" travel
into
the
Rail
Saver
Receiver».
5. Determine if shims are necessary
to avoid obstructions. The «Rail
Body» should lie flat against frame
rail side, opposite damage to be
repaired. Use wood or metal shims to
achieve results needed.
8. To release, open valve, if wedges
do not disengage tap on frame rail in
wedge area to release.
3. Use 3/16 hex key to slide Wedge
Bar over ram piston end and tighten
«Threaded
set screw snug. Don't over tighten.
6. Determine depth of damage using
the target at the end of the tape
measure on the Rail Saver. Mark with
thumb or dry erase marker.
IMPORTANT !!! To remove
9.
hydraulic ram from the Rail Saver,
loosen set screw on «Wegde bar»
and slide bar forward or remove
completely. Failure to do so could
result in dislodging the ram piston
return spring.
