To place the EEBAin use, use the following steps and refer
to the FIGURES 4, 5 and 6.
FIGURE 4
(First Step)
Fold down the carrying bag flap by separating the velcro fas-
teners. Remove the hood from the carrying bag.
FIGURE 5
(Second Step)
Open the cylinder valve by turning the handwheel at least
two full turns counterclockwise
FIGURE 6
(Third Step)
Unfold the hood and pull it over your head so that the hose
connection is in front.
With the hood in place on your head, immediately leave the
danger area. Use an escape route which will require not
more than 5 minutes when using a Model 845 or 855, or
10 minutes when using a Model 850, to reach fresh air.
After use, remove the hood and close the cylinder valve.
Return the used unit to the designated service area for
turnaround maintenance and recharging.

TURNAROUND MAINTENANCE

After each use, units should be examined by trained person-
nel, serviced using the following procedures, and recharged:
1.
Make certain that the cylinder valve is closed by turning
the valve handwheel clockwise.
2.
Disconnect the breathing hood from the air supply hose
by unscrewing the air flow disperser assembly. The part
of this assembly that is inside the hood can be manipu-
lated through the hood material since the transparent
hood is quite soft and pliable. After separation, slip the
inner part of the disperser assembly out of the disperser
pocket so that no loose parts are attached to the hood
prior to cleaning. See FIGURES 7 and 8.
