2. LEGAL REGULATIONS
Your e-bike is classed under the legislation as EPAC (Electric Power assisted
Cycle).
The Pedelec legislation applicable in the EU is as a normal bike. The EPAC
can provide a maximum 250W continuous-duty motor and must also stop
assistance at 25km/h. In contrast to the S-Pe- delec system, EU legislation
states motor assistance can help your EPAC only when the rider is pedaling.
As an addition there is also permitted a starting aid to 6km/h from a
standstill.
In almost all countries, there are legal provisions for S-Pedelecs and Pede-
lecs. This may vary! Therefore, please check current laws and regulations
for each country if the Pedelec is to be used out- side Germany. In the UK
our Pedelecs are supplied as road legal, except the Mountain Bike range.
EPAC - The support of the motor is only when pedaling (power or pedal
sensor required).
