spond to the sawed material, sawing regime and the
quality of the edge of the saw cut The designation of
the saw blade is printed on the package; you may also
ask the salesperson
General guidelines for cutting
Make a test saw cut using a spare piece of
the blank part (made of the same material
as the material of the blank part) in order
to make sure that the saw blade 16, the
sawing speed and the pendulum strike have been
selected appropriately.
• Make sure that the blank part is tightly fastened and
that all of the metal pieces (nails, screw nails, etc)
have been removed from it
• Turn the power tool on before the saw blade 16 comes
in contact with the blank part Do not use extra force; the
operation requires some time Extra force will not speed
up the operating process, but it will overload the tool
• When the teeth of the saw blade 16 are too large
for the blank part (excessive vibration, splitting and
chipping of the processed surface will serve as a sign
of the teeth being too large), turn off the power tool
immediately and replace the saw blade 16 with the ap-
propriate blade
• If the saw blade 16 jams during the operation, turn
off the power tool immediately and try to expand the
saw cut, then carefully remove the saw blade 16 from
the saw cut
• After the cutting is finished, first turn the power tool
off and then remove the saw blade 16 from the saw cut
When cutting certain materials (like met-
als), the saw blade 16 may heat up ex-
cessively, therefore it is recommended
to use cooling or lubricating substances
which are to be applied to the point where the saw
blade 16 comes in contact with the blank part.
Plunge sawing (see fig. 10)
Plunge sawing may be used only when
sawing soft materials, such as wood,
plasterboard, etc. This operating tech-
nique
facilitates
without preliminary drilling - the saw blade 16 cuts
through the blank part on its own. This technique
requires certain skill and may be applied using
short saw blades 16.
• Position the power tool on the front edge of the base
plate 14 (see fig. 10) and turn it on. Slowly plunge the
blank part with the saw blade 16 by pressing the power
tool to the blank part
• Once the saw blade 16 cuts through the blank part
return the power tool into its normal operating position
and continue cutting along the marked line
Sawing with guide bar for parallel cutting / circle
cutting
Straight sawing (see fig. 5-6, 11-13)
The parallel guide for parallel sawing 18 allows saw-
ing along the existing straight edge as well as cutting
straight bars of the same width (see fig. 11).
• Loosen clamping bolts 6 (see fig. 5-6).
• Position the parallel guide for parallel sawing 18

• Set the needed sawing distance
• Tighten clamping bolts 6 to fix guide bar 18 for circu-
lar / parallel sawing
• Saw by pressing the parallel guide for parallel saw-
ing 18 to the side edge of the blank part
Similar results can be reached by attach-
ing a board to a work part with screw
clamps and using such board as a sec-
ondary limit stop. Perform sawing by
moving power tool along the limit stop while
pressing the side of base plate 14 to the side of the
board (see fig. 12).
Circle cutting (see fig. 13)
[STS07-100 DV, STS07-120 TV]
Guide bar for parallel cutting / circle cutting 18 allows
circular sawing at a set radius
• Mark the circle to be cut and make a hole in the cen-
tre (the diameter of the hole should be equal to the
diameter of locating pin 17)
• If you do not intend to start sawing from the edge of
the workpiece, make a hole at the starting point as in
figure 13 (the diameter of the hole should be over the
width of saw blade 16)
• Loosen clamping bolts 6
• Turn over guide bar for parallel cutting / circle
cutting 18 and place as in figure 13.
• Move the power tool to the starting point If you do not
intend to start sawing from the edge of the workpiece, in-
sert saw blade 16 to the hole made at the starting point
• Set the operating radius for circular sawing moving
guide bar for parallel cutting / circle cutting 18 till the
hole made for locating pin 17 coincides with the central
hole of the circle
• Insert locating pin 17 into guide bar for parallel cut-
ting / circle cutting 18 and simultaneously into the cen-
tral hole of the circle
• Tighten clamping bolts 6 to fix guide bar 18 for circu-
lar / parallel sawing
• Start sawing along the marked circle by one hand
and holding locating pin 17 by the other hand
Use narrow sawing blades 16 to perform
circular or curvilinear sawing to improve
quality and make the operation easier.
Cutting angle adjustment (see fig. 14-15)
The design of the power tool facilitates making
angled saw cuts by angling the case of the power
tool The base plate 14 of the power tool contains a
scale 11 which marks the angles of the casing of the
power tool (the step is 15° or(and) 20°) If additional
measuring instruments are used, one may position the
casing of the power tool at any angle (within the limits
specified in the technical data table).
[STS04-65 DV]
• Use Allen key 15 to loosen bolts 24 (see fig. 14).
• Shift the base plate 14 back or forward (depending
upon the previously installed angle of the casing) and
select the needed angle of the casing using the read-
ings of the scale 11 or the readings of the additional
measurement instrument
• Use Allen key 15 to tighten bolts 24
• Perform sawing as described above
