Intended use
The CONCAVE medical supply unit is intended for use in medi-
cally used rooms - especially in intensive care settings (in accor-
dance with DIN VDE 0100-710):
• to supply medical equipment with mains power, medical gases
and vacuum, protection type IP20
• to transport anaesthetic gases
• for communications and data transfer
• for ergonomic positioning of medical equipment directly on
panels (accessory)
Safety
The CONCAVE medical supply unit is a medical product (Class
IIb) in accordance with the German Medical Device Law (MPG)
and EU Directive 93/42 and meets Standard EN 60 - 601.
System description
The CONCAVE medical supply unit consists of modules for elec-
trical connections and medical gases which can be combined
with each other. Combinations are built to customised designs
(modular design).
Disclaimer of liability
The CONCAVE medical supply unit may only be installed by skil-
led qualified personnel in accordance with these installation in-
structions and instructions for use. Zumtobel Staff cannot accept
any liability for damage caused by use other than for the intended
purpose or by faulty installation.
Electrical connections
Please note the following when connecting equipment to safety
sockets:
• Safety sockets that are marked "SV" (colour: green) are desi-
gned for connection to the "emergency power supply system"
and guarantee restoration of operating capability within 15
seconds in the event of a power failure.
• Safety sockets that are marked "ZSV" (colour: orange) are desi-
gned for connection to the "auxiliary emergency power supply
system" and guarantee restoration of operating capability wit-
hin 0.5 seconds in the event of a power failure.
• All safety sockets that are not marked are designed for con-
nection to the general supply system.
• The socket circuits of the CONCAVE medical supply unit are
each designed for a current load of 16 A.

Medical gas outlets
Follow the manufacturer's instructions when commissioning gas
outlets, vacuum systems, anaesthetic gas transport systems and
air motors.
Connection facilities for medical gas outlets and medical vacuum
lines have been coded according to gas type and are therefore
non-interchangeable in use.
Maintenance and inspection intervals can be found in the sup-
pliers' relevant technical descriptions of medical gas delivery
points and vacuum systems.
Mounting tracks
The mounting track(s) - 25 x 10 mm - on the CONCAVE medical
supply unit for attaching monitors and medical equipment acces-
sories must not be subjected to loads exceeding 50 kg/m.
Cleaning & care
The CONCAVE medical supply unit is made of extruded alumi-
nium sections. Surfaces are anodised. The cover is also available
with a powder-coated finish in RAL colours. All surfaces are re-
sistant to conventional disinfectants and household cleaning pro-
ducts.
Maintenance & repair
Maintenance and repair work may only be carried out by authori-
sed qualified personnel.
