Installing the Pump Hose — All Other Models
NOTE: Before installing the hose, make sure the outside of the hose is adequately
greased. (See REPLACEMENT PARTS manual for special grease.)
WARNING: Isolate the pump from the main power source before connection,
assembly or maintenance.
1. Remove the flanges on the suction and discharge sides. Liberally lubricate the outside
of hose with special grease.
2. Turn on the power and start the motor briefly. The rotor will pull the hose in as it
rotates. As soon as the end of the hose appears at the discharge side, stop the motor
and turn off the power.
WARNING: Do not wear gloves or loose clothing, as they can be pulled in.
3. Put the clamping rings onto both ends of the hose, and insert the connecting sockets
into the ends of the hose on both the suction and discharge ends.
4. Screw the suction and discharge flanges back on the pump.
The pump is now ready to operate.
WARNING: Before operating the pump, all valves in the pipe work must be opened.
A hazardous bursting condition could develop and/or the excessive
pressure will damage the pump and hose and may cause harm to
personnel.
The figure below shows the proper orientation of the clamping ring.
WARNING: The casing cover may be removed only when the drive is stopped and the power has been
disconnected.
NOTE: If the pump is fitted with a hose monitor, care must be taken not to grease the hose excessively, as the grease
may impair the function of the sensor, which should be cleaned with a dry cloth at every hose change.
