TECHNICAL INFORMATION
The conditioner is made of 3 mains components: compressor, evaporator, condenser. This cooling circuit is unloaded with a low boiling
point cooling fluid. Cooling fluid is R134a (CH2FCF3), without chlorine. Its ozone aggression capability is zero, so cooling fluid used is
ecological. A dryer filter, offers efficient protection from humidity, acids, impure particles inside frigorific circuit.
Safety device
Compressor and fans are equipped with thermal protectors that prevent from overcurrent and overvoltage
Condensates discharge
Air conditioners are designed so that condensates drain is directly discharged into the environment, through a passage in the tank. It is very
important to control, that condensate evacuation is not clogged.
COMMISIONNING
After finishing assembly of conditioner, wait approx. 30 min. before starting it up (the oil must collect in the compressor to ensure
lubrication).
Unit is setted at 35°C.
This setting may be varied by turning the setting screw with a small screwdriver as indicated in the figure. To gain access to the thermostat
remove the covering panel.
In order not to compromise the reliability of the unit, set point must not exceed 40°C. It is advised not to set thermostat at less
than 25°C to avoid dangerous vapor condensation on inside components if the door is opened, this occurs most frequently in
tropical climates.
Once the covering panel has been replaced:
Usually the only thermostat is the one which controls compressor. In some cases, the units may be fitted with other thermostats:
-Freeze thermostat: a safety device which stops the compressor when frost begins to form on the evaporator coil (for example, if
the fan has broken down). It does not require setting.
-Maximum temperature thermostat in the control panel: this provides a voltage-free contact in the terminal board or an alarm
signal which indicates that the alarm level inside the control panel has been reached. It is factory set at 55°C but may be easily set at other
temperatures.
MAINTENANCE
The cooling circuit consists of an hermetically sealed system and requires no maintenance it factory filled with expected quantity of gas.
Then a leak test is performed as well as complete function test. Fans do not require maintenance, they are mounted on ball bearings,
protected against humidity and dust, and equipped on thermal protector. Expected life is 30,000 hours. Only external fan, according to
degree of impurity which they are subjected, must be periodically cleaned with compressed air. Use of filter is appropriate if there are
impurities in the air. Warning "before beginning any maintenance, disconnect power supply."
TROUBLE-SHOOTING TABLE
PROBLEM
The air conditioner won't start.
Nothing runs.
Only inside fan runs.
Practically no intensity.
Everything works.
Insufficient cooling.
High intensity.
Everything works.
Low intensity and compressor very hot.
Insufficient performance.
Compressor cold or even wet.
Low intensity.
Compressor never stops.
During operation a lot of condensate water
forms and drained off.
-Give power to the unit using the external mains switch.
-The evaporator fan will start immediately.
-If temperature inside the control panel is higher than thermostat setting, the condenser fan
and compressor will also start.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
No mains power supply to the unit.
Control thermostat tripped or wrongly set.
Freeze stat tripped.
Condenser coil dirty.
Fault condenser fan.
Air recirculating to the condenser.
Electric panel not properly sealed.
Undersized unit.
Insufficency or total lack of refrigerant gas.
Dirty evaporator coil.
Air recirculation due to obstacles.
the thermostat contacts are "stucked"
Cabinet not sufficiently well sealed.
Cabinet doors are open.
Holes in the cabinet walls.
POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS
Check circuit breakers and connections to
mains power supply line.
Check control thermostat and if necessary
lower setting.
Check inside coil, presence of any obstacles
inside control panel, inside temperature.
Check coil and air filter.
Check fan.
Remove any obstacles.
Recalculate thermal load to be dissipated.
Check whether there are oil stains in the
compressor lodging.
Ask a refrigeration specialist.
Check that battery is cleaned.
Remove any obstacles.
If necessary replace fault part.
Improve the seal of the joints.
Close the doors.
Fill in holes.
