4. Safety tips
1.
This pressure cooker is intended for household use only.
2.
Do not use the pressure cooker for a purpose other than the one for which it is
intended, namely for food preparation under pressure. You can suffer burns from
misuse.
3.
Never leave the pressure cooker unattended while it is being used.
4.
Always keep the pressure cooker out of reach of children during use. Turn the
handles of pots and pans to the back of the stove and use the stove plates at the
back.
5.
Use only the heat-insulated handles to move the cooker and use oven mitts.
6.
While releasing steam, do not touch the handles, as steam comes out of here,
especially when releasing steam in the fast way.
7.
Under no circumstances should you directly touch the cooker while it is hot.
8.
When cooking food that expands (e.g. beans, grains, rice), please be aware that
they could block the valves.
9.
Keep the control valve, the safety valve and the sealing ring very clean and dry at all
times.
10. Use the cooker on a safe, flat hotplate. For electrical hotplates, make sure that the
hotplate is a bit smaller than the diameter of the cooker. In the case of gas stoves,
ensure that the flames never extend up the sides of the cooker.
11. Never use the pot for deep frying (in oil).
12. Do not put the pressure cooker into a heated oven.
13. While cooking, if steam comes out of the red cap on the safety valve, turn off the
hotplate and only start using the cooker again once the problem has been solved.
14. The control valve should never be pointed at persons, as hot steam may discharge
from it.
15. Make sure that you do not cover the control valve.
16. Air bubbles in ingredients (such as sausages with skin or mushy foods) might splash
when opening. This can cause burns. Therefore, please shake the pot lightly before
opening it. Never pierce the air bubbles, this too can cause burns.
17. Do not fill the cooker beyond the MAX mark (about 2/3 of the cooker volume).
18. If you are cooking foods that foam or expand during cooking (eg rice, beans), fill the
cooker up to half of its capacity.
19. The minimum capacity is 1 cm above the bottom of the cooker, and should not be
undercut.
The min. or max. marking is not valid during use as a regular cooking pot, with
a BEEM glass lid, for example!
20. Heat the pressure cooker never without adding water. This would seriously damage
it.
21. Never open the cooker while it is still under pressure and never try to open it by
force.
22. Do not heat the cooker if the lid has not been properly locked.
23. Before every use, check that the valves move smoothly and easily and that they are
clean.
24. Never use the fast way for releasing the steam while preparing soups, stews,
porridge and legumes, as these contents might froth up. Danger of burns.
25. Use only original spare parts recommended by the manufacturer.
26. Take no changes to the safety systems. If you have problems, contact the
manufacturer or a specialist.
