9. Maintenance and
cleaning
9.1 Maintenance
Special maintenance and care is not necessary.
If the aspiration or dispensing power falls off, filter and tub-
ing on the pump side should be replaced.
9.2 Cleaning
Danger: Disconnect VacuSafe from the power
supply before cleaning.
Warning: When reassembling subsequent to
cleaning, ensure that the tubes are properly connect-
ed. If connected wrongly, VacuSafe will aspirate
when in the dispense mode and possibly damage the
instrument.
Warning: Chlorine solutions and other aggressive
chemicals may affect operation of the equipment. In
order to avoid damage in the long term such chemi-
cals should not be left inside the system for any
lengthy period.
Pump / sensor cable:
Dirt and contamination can be removed using a

moist cloth and either warm or warm soapy water
or with 70% alcohol. Use a lint-free cloth or a
brush.
Never use caustic solutions such as nitro diluent or
●
similar.
Never attempt to scrape off residues

Never attempt to flame off residues.

Bottle and lid
The bottle and complete lid, without sensor cable, can be
cleaned as glassware. bottle and lid may also be cleaned in
dishwasher.
Warning: Remove the sensor cable before placing in
the dishwasher; it may otherwise be damaged
beyond repair.
