1 Windshield
2 LCD display
MX:freezes the maximum value
MN: freezes the minimum value
OVER: measured value exceeds the upper limit value
UNDER: measured value lies below the minimum
limit value
F: fast response time
S: slow response time
dB (A): display in dB(a).
dB (C): display in dB(c).
88: display (01 - 04) measuring range selection
REC: a measurement is in progress
FULL: the memory is full
HOLD: freezes the measured value
: indicates that the battery is low and must soon be

3 On/Off button and background lighting
press the On/Off button once to switch the appliance on.
to activate the background lighting, briefly press the same
button once more. to switch the appliance off, keep the
button pressed for an extended period. a countdown ap-
pears on the display: p-3, p-2, p-1 (still keep the On/Off
button pressed) and the appliance switches itself off.
4 A/C button
press this button to select the dB(a) or dB(c) measuring
curve respectively.
5 HOLD button
Data hold function
press the button once to "freeze" the current measured
value. press the button again to resume the measurement
procedure.
Deletion of data
press and hold the hold button before switching the ap-
pliance on (it is only necessary to press the On/Off button
briefly). release the hold button as soon as the appliance
is switched on and the letters "clr" (clear) appear on the
display. these letters indicate that the data memory has
been cleared.

6 Level stages and recording functions
Level selection
press the level button once in each case to move from
one level to another. press the button once in each case
to move from "lo" (low) (01) to "med" (medium) (02) and
then to "hi" (high) (03) and "auto" (04) and from there
back to "lo".
Recording function
First of all, press the hold button to freeze the value
on the display. then press the recording button (rec)
in order to save the value to the data memory. the
procedure was successful if the abbreviation "rec"
appears on the display. press the hold button again to
resume the measuring procedure.
Reading the data
Keep the recording button
(rec) pressed with the ap-
pliance switched off whilst
pressing the On/Off button
until the word "data" ap-
pears on the display. scroll through the measured
values in the memory using the recording button
(rec) and press the maX or hOld button to read out
the date and time of the data recording. press rec
to move to the next data. press F/s to exit from this
mode.

7 MAX/MIN button

Freeze the maximum/minimum value (hold function).
press the max/min key once in order to enter the ma-
ximum/minimum value. First, the abbreviation "maX"
appears. the maximum value is frozen and remains
frozen until a higher value is measured. press the but-
ton again. the abbreviation "min" appears; the mini-
mum value is frozen and stored until a lower value is
measured. press the button once more to exit from
maX/min mode.
8 F/S button(fast/slow)
Fast: fast sampling rate - approx. once every 125 ms
slOW: slow sampling rate - approx. once per second
