5.4- How to latch and retract hose correctly
This reel is fitted with ratchet device, making it very easy to extend and retract the hose.
a) To pull out the hose
Grab hose with one hand (wear protective gloves) and pull hose gently out without jerking.
When you pull out the hose you will hear the clicking sound of the ratchet.
Pull hose to your needed length, as soon as you hear the clicking of the ratchet, then released
the hose and the reel will be latched by the ratchet mechanism.
The hose is fitted with a colored ring that represents the limit not exceeded when pulling out
the hose.
b) To rewind the hose
Grab hose with one hand and pull it gently out for about 25~35cm (depending on model),
when ratchet clicking will not be heard; you can rewind the hose now.
To retract the hose, it is suggested that a minimum of 25% of the hose shall be extended.
During retraction, always hold the hose and follow the retraction until it is finished.
To avoid hose rewinding too fast, always hold hose firmly (wear protective gloves).
If the hose has twists in it, it is necessary to extend the hose to full length then allow it to
retract smoothly and evenly back onto the reel.
Note: at full extension, the hose may need a stronger than usual tug to start retracting.
Note:
When not in use, we recommend to store your reel indoors in a dry location. Always lock up
product and keep out of reach of children
Remark:
If the hose cannot be retracted after using for a certain period of time, this may be caused by
the spring that is fatigued. DO NOT OPEN THE HOSE REEL HOUSING!
The internal spring mechanism is held under load and is dangerous if released. If retraction
problem occurs, please contact your local distributor for advice and assistance.
