FOR YOUR SAFETY
Do not attempt to start the oil burner if:
•
excess oil has accumulated
•
the furnace is full of vapour
•
the combustion chamber is extremely hot
Do not tamper with the furnace and controls! The
unit must be serviced by qualified service
personnel.
WARNING
Those who install this oil furnace must have
the training and experience necessary to do
so. Read this manual carefully. Failure to
properly install and set up the furnace could
result in property damage, personal injury, or
loss of life. The qualified service personnel
performing this work assumes a serious
responsibility for the correct installation, set-
up, and start-up of the furnace and related
equipment.
These instructions have been thoroughly
written, but they cannot cover every peculiar
installation and contingency. Therefore if
there is doubt as to interpretation of any
requirements, contact your local authority
having jurisdiction, your local distributor, or
the factory.

CAUTION
If you observe the red warning light on the
burner, push the red reset button only once.
If the burner does not re-light, do not push
the button a second time or excess oil will
accumulate in the combustion chamber – call
qualified service person

GENERAL
The ODH5-F is a horizontal / downflow unit which can
operate in the following three orientations with no
modification to the furnace, other than ensuring the
burner is always mounted "up":
•
Vertical, with return air entering at the top and
supply air discharging out the bottom;
•
Horizontal Air Right, with return air entering at the
left end and supply air discharging out the right
end;
•
Horizontal Air Left, with return air entering at the
right end and supply air discharging out the left
end.
IMPORTANT :
not be operate without a supply air duct. If
free air discharge is desired, install a 24"
long (minimum) outlet duct and apply
whatever outlet blockage is necessary to
yield a minimum of .25" external static
pressure in the short piece of supply duct.
Additionally, return air openings should never
be cut into the side or back panel of the
furnace.
