Features and Scope for Application

The ORBITWIN-C is not an independent item of equipment and can only be used in
conjunction with an Orbitalum ORBIMAT-C power supply. The ORBIMAT C power
supply must be fitted with the appropriate hard/software to allow the ORBITWIN-C to
operate. All power supplies after serial number1999-648 (year of construction starting
from June 1999) already have the correct hard/software. However, without exception,
all older ORBIMAT C power supplies can be re-tooled without any problem by
Orbitalum for operation with the ORBITWIN 160/165/250/300 C.
It is assumed that the operator of the ORBITWIN-C has a working knowledge of the
ORBIMAT-C power source. The operation of the power supply is not described in this
manual. Therefore these operating instructions are only an addition to the operating
instructions of the power source, which must be read and digested before operation
should commence.
We point out expressly that all safety references given in the operating
instructions of the equipment ORBIMAT-C also apply to the operation of the
ORBIMAT/ORBITWIN without exception. Please be advised you should read all
instruction manuals before beginning work with the equipment.
The equipment ORBITWIN 160/165/250/300 C allows simultaneous connection of
two appropriate (different or identically constructed) welding heads from the
Orbitalum range to an ORBIMAT-C power supply.
This is particularly useful if on two different components (possibly with different
welding programs) need to be welded. Use of the switching unit eliminates the need
for continuous disconnection of the weldhead. All services are automatically changed
over to the head in operation. A separate welding program can be loaded at the
power source for each welding head, and the procedure is automatically selected for
the head in use.
However only one weldhead can weld at a time, when one head is welding the
other welding head is completely isolated.

Checking the parts of delivery

• Check delivery for completeness and damage caused by transport.
• Report any missing parts or damage caused by transport to your supplier immediately.
