Operating Instructions K 1801 B
Observe and follow the safety instructions.
• An electrical device is not a child’s toy.
Use and store the steam iron system out of the
reach of children.
Do not leave the power cord hanging down.
• Never leave the iron unsupervised while it is
connected to the mains.
• Place the steam iron system only on horizontal
and even ground for stability.
• Steam iron is hot and so is the steam jet hot.
Point out to other people the possible risks of
being scalded or burnt. Never direct the jet of
steam on to people or animals. Do not touch
electrical leads or combustible objects with
a hot steam iron.
• Take hold of the cable directly by the plug
and do not pull the plug out of the socket by
the cable.
• Pull out the power plug:
– before you leave the room,
– before all maintenance tasks,
– after use.
• Use only undamaged extension cables.
• Do not wash the iron to clean it. Only wipe it
over with a damp cloth.
• Steam generator contains hot water vapour
at above atmospheric pressure. Let the steam
generator cool down before refilling it with
water.
• Do not operate the steam iron system if there
are any signs of damage to the unit, the leads
or the antikink device. If there is damage to
these, send the system in to customer service
for repair.
• The unit has to be repaired by the customer
service authorised as special tools are
required to carry out repairs.
• If the system is to be scrapped, make it
unusable (e.g. cut off all supply lines).
• No liability will be accepted if the system is
used contrary to its intended purpose or
wrongly operated.
• The mains voltage supplied and the voltage
specified on the rating plate of the system
must agree. The system is screened for
radio interference according to EC directive
87/308/EEC.
Kärcher electrical appliances meet the
approved norms of engineering and device safety
protection (EC directive 73/23/EEC).
