Safety Notes
This unit corresponds to the directive for electromag-
netic compatibility 89/336/EEC and to the low voltage
directive 73/23/EEC.
The unit is supplied with hazardous mains voltage
(230 V~). Leave servicing to skilled personnel only.
Inexpert handling may cause an electric shock haz-
ard. Furthermore, any guarantee claim will expire if
the unit has been opened.
Please observe the following items in any case:
The unit is suitable for indoor use only. Protect it
against humidity and heat (admissible ambient tem-
perature range: 0 – 40 °C).
The heat generated within the unit must be carried
off by air circulation. Therefore, do not cover the air
vents of the housing with any objects.
Do not insert anything through the air vents! An elec-
tric shock or failure of the unit may result.
Do not operate the unit or immediately disconnect
the plug from the mains socket
1. if there is visible damage to the unit or to its mains
cable,
2. if a defect might have occurred after the unit was
dropped or suffered a similar accident,
3. if malfunctions occur.
In any case the unit must be repaired by skilled per-
sonnel.
A damaged mains cable must be replaced by the
manufacturer or by skilled personnel only.
Never pull the mains cable to disconnect the mains
plug from the socket.
If the unit is used for other purposes than originally
intended, if it is not connected or operated in the cor-
rect way or not repaired by skilled personnel, no lia-
bility for any damage will be accepted.
For cleaning only use a dry, soft cloth, by no means
chemicals or water.
If the unit is to be put out of operation permanently,
take it to a local recycling plant for disposal.
Important for U.K. Customers!
The wires in this mains lead are coloured in accord-
ance with the following code:
green/yellow = earth; blue = neutral; brown = live
As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this
appliance may not correspond with the coloured
markings identifying the terminals in your plug, pro-
ceed as follows:
1. The wire which is coloured green and yellow must
be connected to the terminal in the plug which is
marked with the letter E or by the earth symbol
or coloured green or green and yellow.
2. The wire which is coloured blue must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter N or coloured black.
3. The wire which is coloured brown must be con-
nected to the terminal which is marked with the
letter L or coloured red.
Warning - This appliance must be earthed.

Application
In video monitoring systems, the control unit SC-24
serves as remote control for camera panning devices
equipped with 24 V~ motors.

Connection
Always switch off the control unit before connecting.
Connect the control lines of the camera panning device
to the screw terminals of the terminal strip (6) as follows:
1 AUTO
automatic panning
2 LEFT
panning to the left
3 RIGHT
panning to the right
4 COMMON
common ground
For connection to the power supply, connect the plug of
the mains cable (4) to a mains socket (230 V~/50 Hz).

Operation
Switch on the unit with the POWER switch (3). The con-
trol LED next to the switch lights up to indicate operation.
5.1 Manual panning
For manual panning of the camera panning device to
the left or to the right, set the switch (2) to "MANUAL"
(left position) and move the toggle (1) in the desired
direction. At the corresponding terminal there is a con-
trol voltage output of 24 V~. Hold the toggle for the
duration of the panning process.
After releasing the toggle, it returns to its rest posi-
tion; the panning device stops.
5.2 Automatic panning
For automatic panning of the camera panning device,
set the switch (2) to "AUTO" (right position). At the ter-
minal "1 AUTO" there is now a control voltage output of
24 V~. In this operating mode, the toggle for the direc-
tion (1) is ineffective.
