8. Installation
a) Installing the armrest
b) Adjusting the metal detector to your body height
Follow the steps below to adjust the length of the pole:
• Test the length setting. If necessary, readjust the length until you find a comfortable position.
• To shorten the pole, wipe the lower telescopic pole and then slide it back into the upper pole. Keep the connecting
socket free of sand and other dirt.

• Loosen the locking screw (12) by turning it anticlockwise.
• Insert the armrest pipe (11) into the shaft in the correct orientation.
• For best results, insert the armrest as far as it will go. The length can be
adjusted very slightly for different arm lengths by pulling the arm rest outwards
slightly. Always ensure that the armrest (11) is sufficiently inserted into the
shaft.
• Turn the locking screw (12) clockwise to fix the armrest in place.
• The height of the metal detector can be adjusted to suit your body height.
• Adjust the length so that you can move the detection probe (1) over the
ground at a height of approximately 3-5 cm without having to bend over. When
searching for metal objects, ensure that you stand straight with a balanced
body posture (see left-hand diagram).
• Loosen the connection sleeve (3) by turning it clockwise.
• Pull the lower telescopic pole (2) outwards to the desired position. The bottom
of the metal detector should be parallel to the ground when you are searching
for metal objects.
• Turn the connection sleeve (3) anticlockwise to secure the pole in place at the
desired length.
