INSTALLING THE BLADE GUARD
WARNING:
be installed on the hedge trimmer
at all times except when the hedge
trimmer is being operated. Carrying or
storing the hedge trimmer without the
blade guard installed may result in
serious personal injury.
1. Slide the blade guard (1) over the
cutting blades (2) (Fig. 3).
2. Make sure the blade guard slides fully
onto the cutting blades to ensure all
cutting teeth are covered (Fig. 4).

STARTING INSTRUCTIONS

DANGER:

hands, one on each of the two handles.
Keep your hands and body parts away
from the cutting blades.
To prevent the motor from starting
accidentally, the lock-off button and
throttle control must both be engaged
to start the unit.
1. Install the power cell. Refer to
Installing the Power Cell in the Drive
Unit manual.
2. Push the lock-off button (2) into the
throttle control (1) and hold it in
place (Fig. 5).
3. While continuing to hold the lock-off
button, squeeze and hold the throttle
control to start the unit (Fig. 5).
4. Continue to squeeze the throttle
control for operation.
