instruments!

suffocation!
Notes on batteries and rechargeable batteries
Instead of non-rechargable batteries, rechargable NiMH batteries can be used. However, due to
the lower voltage (battery = 1.5 V, rechargable battery = 1.2 V), the brightness is decreased; the
lower capacity of the rechargable batteries leads to a shorter period of use.
If you want to use rechargable batteries, we recommend the use of NiMH batteries with low self-
discharge.
For a longer and safer use, we recommend using high-quality alkaline batteries.
• Batteries/rechargeable batteries must be kept out of the reach of children.
• Check that the polarity is correct when inserting the batteries/rechargeable batteries (pay attention to plus
and minus!).
• Do not leave batteries/rechargeable batteries lying around; they could be swallowed by children or pets. If swallowed
consult a doctor immediately, it can be fatal!
• Make sure that batteries/rechargeable batteries are not short-circuited, dismantled or thrown into a fire.
There is a risk of fire and explosion!
• Old or flat batteries can leak liquid chemicals that may damage the device. If not used for a longer period
(e.g. in case of storage), remove the inserted batteries/accumulators.
• Leaking or damaged batteries/rechargeable batteries in contact with the skin can cause acid burns; there-
fore, use suitable protective gloves.
• Only use batteries/rechargeable batteries of the correct size and the recommended type.
• Always replace the complete set of batteries/rechargeable batteries.
• Use either batteries or rechargeable batteries; never mix batteries with rechargeable batteries. Always use
identically-constructed batteries of the same type and manufacturer. Do not mix batteries/rechargeable bat-
teries with different charges (e.g. full with half-full batteries).

Inserting Batteries, Replacing Batteries
• Unscrew the closing cap (1).
• Take the aluminium case (3) off the light body (4) and insert 3 batteries of type AAA/Micro according to the
correct polarity.
• Replace the aluminium case (3) on the light body; pay attention to the correct position (see picture above,
Position 8; note the position of the groove in the aluminim case when assembling!).
• Screw the closing cap (1) back on.
• If the luminosity of the LED light stick weakens or if it no longer lights, the batteries are empty and need to
be changed as described above.
Attachment of the Carrying Loop
On the back end of the LED light stick, there is an opening to which the included carrying loop can be attached.
Switching On/Off/Selecting Brightness
Briefly press the button (7) multiple times to switch between the following functions:
• 100% Light
• 20% Light (power-saving function)
• LEDs off
Use of the included holder
The included holder can be placed on a flat, level surface. The LED light stick can be inserted in it horizontal-
ly or vertically. Protect valuable furniture surfaces by using a suitable mat to prevent scratching.
The holder can also be affixed using the integrated magnet (A), or you can use the provided double-sided
tape (B).
To mount with screws (C), turn the housing cover of the stand foot anti-clockwise; this allows the housing cover
to be removed from the wall mounting plate. The wall mounting plate can now be fixed to the wall with screws.
Use screws and, if necessary, screw anchors that are suitable for the surface. Pay attention when drilling and
tightening the screws that no cable or pipes are damaged. Then replace the housing cover on the wall mounting
plate.
A
Maintenance and Cleaning
Until the battery is replaced, the LED light stick is maintenance-free. The outside of the housing should be
cleaned only with a clean, soft, dry cloth.
Do not press too hard, since this can lead to scratches or other damage.
Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or chemical solutions, which could damage the housing or impair
operation.
Disposal
a) In general
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory regulations.
b) Disposal of used batteries/rechargeable batteries
As the end user, you are required by law (Battery Ordinance) to return all used batteries/rechargeable batter-
ies; disposal of them in the household waste is prohibited!
Batteries/rechargeable batteries that contain hazardous materials are labelled with the following
symbols to indicate that disposal in the household waste is forbidden. The symbols for the rele-
vant heavy metals are: Cd = Cadmium, Hg = Mercury, Pb = Lead.
Used batteries/rechargeable batteries can be disposed of free of charge at local collection points, our branch-
stores or battery/rechargeable battery selling points!
You thus fulfil the legal requirements and make your contribution to protecting the environment!
