DESCALING
Scale build-up may cause the element to overheat. It may also cause the
safety cut-out to operate prematurely, switching the Percolator off before
the water boils.
To Minimize Scale:
1. Empty the Percolator after each use.
2. Do not allow water to stand in the Percolator overnight.
3. Use filtered water instead of ordinary tap water.
To Descale:
Use a commercially prepared descaler suitable for use in kitchen appliances
and follow the directions on the package or use distilled vinegar and follow
the directions below:
1. Fill the Percolator with equal parts of white vinegar and cold water.
2. Follow the directions in the 'How to Use' section #5 thru #9.
3. When the Indicator Light switches to green, unplug the Base. Pour out
vinegar and water solution and let the Percolator cool.
4. Fill with fresh cold water and repeat #5 thru #9 in the 'How to Use' section.
5. When Indicator Light switches to green, discard water.
6. If necessary repeat steps #1 thru 5 above.
7. The Percolator is now ready to use.
