10.5 Replacement of inhalation valve
To replace the inhalation valve it is necessary to remove the inner mask to access and pull
out from inside the inhalation valve (pos.3 figure 2 and pos.5 figure 3). Replace it with a new
valve being careful to fit the valve through its central hole on the pin, supported by 4 arms,
of the threaded connector body (pos.1 figure 2 and pos.1 figure 3). Replace the inner mask
placing first the upper hole in the groove of the speech module and then position the lower
part around the exhalation valve inlet in the internal part of the threaded connector.
10.6 Replacement of inner mask
Remove the inner half mask (pos.7 figure 1) disengaging it first from the phonic cap groove
(pos.3 figure 4) and afterwards from the exhalation valve outlet on the threaded connector
(pos.2 figure 4). Replace the new inner mask placing first the upper hole in the groove of
the speech module and then position the lower part around the exhalation valve inlet in the
internal part of the threaded connector. Verify that the tubular portion of the half-mask that
adheres to the threaded connector is correctly positioned and located between the inlet to
the exhalation valve on the threaded connector and the lower part of the rubber faceblank.
10.7 Replacement of check valves
Remove both the check valve assemblies from the inner mask (pos.8 e pos.9 figure 1),
and afterwards the valves from their seats; check their integrity and that they are clean. If
necessary clean or replace. Assemble the valves (pos.9 figure 1) on their seats (pos.8 figure
1) first, checking the disk of the valves remains flat. Afterwards replace the seats onto the
inner mask paying attention that the rubber stems of the valves are directed outwards the
inner mask.
