6.3
Place the mask in front of the face holding it by the back of the neck harness. Place
the chin in the appropriate groove in the mask and put the harness over the head
(figure 8).
6.4
Check that the pentagonal area where the five straps of the harness meet is positioned
in the centre of the nape as shown in figure 9. Should it be too high extend the central
strap (or shorten it if the pentagonal area is too low) and adjust the other straps of the
harness to this new position.
6.5
Pull the straps back in the sequence "neck", "temple" and "front". The neck and
temple straps of the harness should be pulled back preferably in pairs and using both
hands (figure 10). In the ideal position of the harness, the contour of the mask seal is
felt to exert a uniform pressure on the face.
6.6
After donning the mask and before use, carry out a tightness test by closing the input
threaded connector with the palm of the hand and making sure the mask fits well
onto face (figure 11). No air must be felt passing into the mask while inhaling. This
tightness test must be carried out 2-3 times. The mask can be used only after passing
the tightness test.
6.7
In order to doff the mask, loosen the straps in the same sequence followed in the
donning procedure. Push the buckles forward with your thumbs (figure 12). Slip off
the mask from the chin and then lift it from the head.
Warning: if the leak test described in point 8.2 is not positively passed repeat until air
tightness is achieved. The use of the mask without enough leaktightness can cause
irreparable damage to the health of the user.
