In case of contact with lubricants and oil by-products, solvents, oxidizing agents, acetates,
hydrogen peroxide, acids and strong bases wash and clean the mask afterwards as soon as
possible in accordance with paragraph 7.2.
Based on the maximum penetration established by EN 136 a full face mask, if properly worn
and used, in compliance with all instructions and limitations in this book, it ensures maxi-

mum penetration of 0.05% to which must be added to the penetration through the filtering
element or the other elements of the chain of a pneumatic insulating device.
According to the definition of Nominal Protection Factor (FPN), defined as 100 divided the
maximum allowed Total Inward Leackage loss, the mask ensures a FPN of 2000.
According to what provided for by D. Lgs. 81/08, with reference to the PPE of category III
which face masks belong to, their use requires proper prior training.
2.1
Specific usage
When the hazards potentially present in the workplace call for respiratory system protection
and use of other protective equipment in addition, the compatibility of these devices with
the mask must be carefully tested. These additional protection measures must not jeopar-
dize the full effectiveness of the respiratory protective equipment. The hazards potentially
present in the workplace can be the following:

liquid or gaseous substances which are harmful in contact with skin,
-
toxic substances which are irritating to skin,
-
radiations,
-
mechanical stress,
-
explosive atmosphere,
-
oxygen enriched atmospheres.

Marking (Type and model)
IDEA masks are CE marked according to the European Community Directive 89/686/EEC and
subsequent modifications since they conform to EN 136:98. In addition to this Norm, the
masks IDEA SP/A ESA also comply with DIN 58600 which defines shape and geometry of the
coupling elements for quick connection of the demand valve to the mask. The mask models
can be easily identified by the following identification marks.
