IMPORTANT INFORMATION

DirectLink
Description
The DirectLink
intended for use as a connecting cable between the DirectLink ICP
Module, and a CODMAN MICROSENSOR
extension cable is 3 m long; it is reusable and is supplied non-
sterile. The cable can be wiped down before each use (see below).
If required by your hospital protocol, sterilize the cable by autoclave
before each use, including initial use (see Sterilization).
The DirectLink ICP Extension Cable is compatible with the
following:
Combination wipes (Quaternary Ammonium/Isopropyl
Alcohol)
70% isopropyl alcohol Indications
CAUTION: Do not immerse the extension cable in any liquid or
allow liquid to enter the connectors. Do not use the cable if the
connectors become wet. Erratic results may occur.
Note: The terms transducer and sensor are used interchangeably in
this manual. The term ICP means intracranial pressure.
WARNING
The DirectLink ICP Extension Cable is MR Unsafe. Do not bring
the cable into the MR environment.
Modification of the cable is not permitted. Unauthorized
modifications to the cable can cause a malfunction resulting in
serious patient injury.
Follow the manual packaged with the CODMAN MICROSENSOR
ICP Transducer. Follow aseptic technique when handling the
transducer.
PRECAUTIONS
Read and follow the manual packaged with the DirectLink Module
before using the extension cable.
Visually inspect the extension cable before each use for the
following:
Cable insulation is intact and no cracks are visible
Connectors are undamaged; connector pins are not bent
Connectors must be dry
